National Medal of Technology Winners
Hollywood meets Washington with win for Industrial Light
and Magic.
On November 4, 2005, President Bush announced the 2004
winners of the National Medal of Technology, the Nation’s
highest award for technological achievement. The winners are:
Ralph H. Baer (video game pioneer), Roger L. Easton, RoBarCo
(GPS technology), Gen-Probe Inc. (blood-testing for viruses),
IBM-Microelectronics Division (semiconductor technology),
Industrial Light and Magic (visual effects), and PACCAR Inc.
(aerodynamic, lightweight trucks). TechVision21 Inside View:
