New Under Secretary for Technology at the Commerce Department

On November 10, 2005, President Bush nominated Robert C. Cresanti to be Under Secretary of Commerce for Technology. Cresanti has been serving as Vice President of Public Policy at the Business Software Alliance. He has also held senior positions at the Information Technology Association of America, the Senate Special Committee on Y2K, and the Senate Banking Committee. Cresanti, if confirmed, would replace Phil Bond, who left Commerce to serve as Senior Vice President for Government Relations at Monster.com.
